The Director-General of the National Orientation Agency, NOA, has introduced a citizen engagement platform that incorporates an artificial intelligence-driven assistant.
Issa-Onilu made this announcement on Monday in Abuja during the unveiling of the CLHEEAN mobile application.
He stated that the platform aims to enhance communication between the government and its citizens, marking a significant change in the manner in which the government interacts with Nigerians.
“Today signifies a pivotal moment in our nation’s progress, not solely due to the NOA’s launch of a new platform, but because we are revolutionizing the way the government connects with the populace,” he remarked.
Issa-Onilu emphasized that numerous citizens desire to express their opinions, yet current systems frequently fail to acknowledge their voices.
“For an extended period, we have encountered a recurring issue: citizens wishing to be heard while systems do not consistently listen,” he noted.
Issa-Onilu explained that the application was developed to bridge the communication divide between the government and the citizens.
“One platform. One mission. To guarantee that every Nigerian can obtain information, engage directly, and most crucially—be heard,” he asserted.
The NOA Director-General indicated that the CLHEEAN mobile application would facilitate closer ties between the government and citizens by offering tools for civic education and engagement.
“The CLHEEAN Mobile App brings the government nearer to the people than ever before. It provides civic education, real-time information, and engagement tools directly to the hands of citizens,” he stated.
Issa-Onilu pointed out that the platform includes an AI-powered voice and chat assistant that accommodates multiple Nigerian languages.
“With an AI-driven voice and chat assistant, multilingual features, and interactive capabilities, governance becomes straightforward, accessible, and inclusive,” he remarked.
Issa-Onilu added that the platform also encompasses tools for civic education, public feedback, and citizen involvement.
These features comprise the Explainer newsletter, campus debates, quizzes, community forums, and channels for idea submission.
