The new Iranian Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has spoken for the first since the beginning of the war between the United States/Israel and Iran.
Speaking during an interview on Thursday, Mojtaba Khamenei said that the Islamic Republic did not start war, saying that the United States did.
DAILY POST had reported that the war started on February 28 when the United States alongside its ally, Israel attacked Iran with air strikes killing its Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and other officials.
Iran has in reprisal launched series of drones and missiles, destroying US interests in neighbouring countries.
At least seven US military personnel have died in the process while 104 others have been wounded.
According to the new Supreme Leader, “We didn’t start this war. The United States did. We were on the table of negotiation but they left that table of negotiation.
“And I think that this war is not between the United States and Iran. It is not Israeli war against Iran. This is rather a war between President Donald Trump and Iran. It’s between the Prime Minister of Israel and Iran.
“Very soon, they will understand that they made a big mistake for attacking Iran.”
