Manchester United, captain Bruno Fernandes has said that it would be difficult for the team to get out of their present situation.
The Portuguese expressed his views regarding the team’s difficulties following their embarrassing 4-1 defeat to Como in the Champions League on Wednesday.
He warned that allowing opponents to maintain possession will keep creating huge challenges for the team.
This represents a recurring pattern for the Red Devils in European competition; they similarly conceded an early goal against Atletico Madrid during their recent 2-0 defeat to the Spanish club.
Fernandes asserted that the squad must demonstrate greater courage in ball possession to create scoring opportunities; failure to do so will result in continued struggles.
He said after the match against Como, “Conceding early makes us go into the game with a mood of defeat; it’s difficult to get out of that, trying to be brave, to have the ball and make something happen.
“If we are not able to do that, it is going to be very difficult to get out of this situation.”
